I cannot believe Rhett is already 6 months old! Time is just flying. He's sitting up better and better each day. I can now bathe him in the tub sitting up, although he still likes to lay down for some of his bath so he can kick and splash (and sometimes roll to his right to lap up some delicious bath water). :) He had his 6 month check up last week and is still looking great, however, he's now dropped to the 50th percentile for height...I knew that wouldn't last long. He did put on a few pounds though; he weighed in at a couple ounces shy of 17 pounds. And, his head is still up there in size, 70th percentile. He gets that from his Daddy or his Poppy.
He started Mother's Day Out a couple weeks ago. He goes twice a week. It's nice for me so I can get some JHP stuff done as well as house chores and grocery shopping. It's soooo much easier to do these things without a baby! Who knew?! On his report sheets he's received "happy" every time thus far. The girls there are so sweet and you can tell they really love Rhett. He loves it too. My boy is apparently a social one so getting out of the house and hanging with other babes makes him happy. This is such a relief for me so I don't have to worry about him when he's there.
He's also started solids again. We've given him sweet potatoes and avocado again plus some peaches. So far, we haven't found anything he won't put in his mouth. Hopefully he will turn out to be a good eater. I know I wasn't as a baby!
Below are his 6 month "professional" photos I took a couple days ago. The first outfit is what I call his "redneck" outfit. I mean I have a boy so I can't dress him up in cute girly things so I have to find something fun and creative to do. The second set of photos is what I call his "j-crew" look. His linen shirt and khaki and white checked shorts...thanks Jeanie! Also, I had Mitchell take some photos of Rhett and I together since I don't really have any of just the 2 of us. Being a photographer means you're the one always taking the picture but I imagine even if you aren't a photographer, if you're the mother, you probably tend to take more photos anyway. And, of course, I had to get one with the dogs. Rhett loves those dogs!! Most of these images are also posted on my JHP blog as well at jarahill.com/blog.
