14 months

Rhett turned 14 months a couple of days ago and yesterday happened to be 80 degrees, so we spent some time at the Arboretum. Naturally, I brought my camera and took several photos. We had a great day! We met two other moms with little boys right at Rhett's age and they played at little. Sadly, I did not capture any of this because he'd wondered very far away from our plot under a shady tree to chase a bird and my camera was back with our stuff. But, we played in the bull frog fountain and a couple other places...barefoot. I think this was his first time to be barefoot on the grass since he started walking when it was cold. I'm pretty certain he dug it. What a beautiful and fun day we had, but I sure hope it doesn't mean it will be a summer like last year. If so, we better soak in the sun while we can! 13 months - a visit from Jeanie and Poppy

My mom and dad came and visited the weekend Rhett turned 13 months old. When they got here my dad was very concerned about Rhett's cough and snotty nose (that he's had for 3 months now) so I was urged to take him to the Dr. Turned out he had an ear infection! I had no idea because he wasn't fussy, he was sleeping great, eating fine and had no fever. He's a tough little boy I guess. Below are a couple pictures from that weekend as well as some iPhone shots from the last week or 2.

As of today (Feb. 2, 2012) not a lot is new with Rhett...

he's still obsessed with balls and dogs (and says the words constantly)
he thinks all birds are ducks :)
he's getting 4 new teeth at the moment, so he will soon have 8 total
he's walking great, still falling a lot but also trying to run
he's down to 1 nap per day (I was very sad about this and tried my hardest to keep him at 2 but he won't do it).
he sleeps 12 hours at night and takes one 2-3 hour nap per day
he eats great. still loves bananas, sweet potatoes and avocados
he's waving bye-bye and will sometimes say it
he'll say "more" and do the sign for it occasionally when eating
he still loves mothers day out and is very social, loves to be around other kids and people
his favorite relatives are still Poppy and Uncle Mac

New Years 2012

For the new year, we took Rhett to the Richmonds ranch (aka one of Mitchell's favorite spots in Texas). Rhett loves being out there just as much as Mitchell and I do. He walked and played so much that he slept 13 hours the first night and 14 hours the next (which meant he slept in until 9:30 am)! We wore him out. It was a quiet yet relaxing new year celebration with the Richmonds and Mitchell's parents. Great food and company! Plus many games of Dominos :). I forgot my camera (what?!) so here are some pics that Mr. Richmond sent over.
