8.5 months - Rhett & Liam at the Arboretum

My friend Natasha and I get together almost every week to let our sons play together. Her son, Liam, is going to be 2 at the beginning of November. We always have so much fun because the boys really seem to like each other and get along great. Since the weather has finally been nice and not 105 degrees, we took them to the Aboretum last week and below are a few pics I snapped.

Since my last post not a lot has changed with Rhett. He's just moving and grooving. Pulling up to standing on everything and still knockin' that noggin' on something daily. He's just a happy boy and lots of fun!

8 to 8.5 months

Rhett is crawling in full force these days. He's very efficient and quick. Which, of course, means he's on to master the next thing which is pulling up to standing and staying up. Even trying to cruise just a tad. About 3 weeks ago he also started clapping out of the blue. He did it in front of Mitchell one day when he was home for lunch so we've been encouraging the clapping a lot. Saying "yay" and clapping with him when he does it. Still has just 2 teeth on the bottom. He's drooling like a mad man again so I keep thinking those uppers are going to pop through any day. We shall see...

He's just lots of fun right now. Laughing, smiling (and at Mother's Day Out they say he flirts) and just a happy boy with not much fuss. I'm waiting any day now for it to end :). The only downfall is that since he's moving around so much he's into everything and hurts himself at least once a day.

Rhett is sleeping still at about 11-12 hours at night with 2, 1.5-2 hour naps. He's eating great, nothing new but I'm starting to give him more things he can pick up and eat on his own. Rhett is really trying to feed himself. He tries taking the spoon away from me while I feed him. I'm also weaning him from nursing. Down to just the morning feeding right when he wakes up. I'm supplementing with organic formula and he hasn't even seemed to notice. It's nice because he can hold the bottle and feed himself.

Below are some pics from when my parents came to visit last weekend and a couple days after. Rhett loves my dad as you can see. He actually clapped when my dad walked in the door one day. Although, Poppy did hurt his feelings and make him cry. We now know even though he can't talk he can understand some of what we're saying. My dad felt really bad but Rhett eventually got over it :). The pictures of him in the crib were yesterday when I caught him standing in his crib yelling (in joy) instead of napping. Couldn't resist that photo opp.

I think that's all for now!
