4 months - Easter

After South Texas last week Rhett was a bit out of sorts for a few days, but he's back on track now. We had his 4 month appointment yesterday. He kept rolling over on the table from his back to his stomach, which he has really gotten the hang of. We will have to watch him closely now so he doesn't roll off of things. He was also standing on his legs just cooing and smiling at himself in the big mirror they have at the pediatrician. He weighs 14.5 pounds, which puts him in the 50th percentile, 26 inches long, that's the 87th percentile and his head size was in the 65th percentile. He's remained about the same on the charts for length but he's not as heavy as before. The doctor told me breast fed babies will start to level off on their weight now.

Last night I fed him rice cereal for the first time. His first taste of solid foods! He ate the whole thing and then passed out without a fuss after his bedtime routine and slept 11 hours straight. Mama was very happy this morning! :)

Easter was great. We spent it with Mitchell's sister, Mandy, and her in-laws. I dressed Rhett in one of Jordan's outfits from when he was a baby and he looked so much like my brother it was creepy! Here are a few pics from Easter.

16 weeks - Rhett meets Louisa for the first time at Rancho Ramillette!

This past weekend we went to Concan in South Texas on the Frio River for our dear friend Ryan O'Connor's 30th birthday party. He and his wife, Amy (aka my best friend since I was 4) have a baby girl, Louisa, who is only 10 days older than Rhett. This was the first time we got to meet her and of course, I love her! She's such a good baby and looks just like her mama. It's so much fun to have a best friend with a baby so close in age to Rhett, I just wish we got to see them more often. We had such a blast. We go down there every year in April and it's one of those trips I always look forward to. They invite lots of their Atlanta friends and a few old friends from Arkansas. There really couldn't be a better group of people that go on this trip.

Rhett did pretty good. He got overwhelmed a few times I think with all the people and noise (we aren't exactly a quiet group) and scenery. Plus, we were partying with the music up pretty loud every night (oops) but other than that, I think Rhett had a good time. At least I know I did :). He finally is liking the Baby Bjorn which is great. Mitchell would put that on head down to the river and Rhett loved it. He also loved the water which makes me even more excited for summer and hanging by the pool!

Please note: Mitchell wasn't really driving and Rhett wasn't really drinking a beer :).

14 & 15 weeks

So things have been very busy lately. I've been busy with Jara Hill Photography, my biz, and haven't had much time to shoot Rhett, other than the quick few I shot the other night while Mitchell was changing his diaper.

Any who...Rhett rolled over a couple times last month (from his stomach to his back) while he was on the floor but I had his upper body propped up on a blanket. I've mentioned before that he doesn't like "tummy time" but we still work at it. Needless to say he rolled over again last week, but this time with out the support of the blanket. He's lifting his head all the way up now when on his stomach and getting really good at holding it upright and steady. Also, on Sunday, Mitchell and I caught him on his play mat trying to roll from his back to his stomach. He was trying so hard, grunting and rolling back and forth to get momentum. He can almost roll all the way over to his tummy but he hasn't quite figured out how to get that bottom arm out of the way. Rhett is also loving standing up (supported obviously). I encourage him and tell him how amazing he is and he just laughs and thinks he's hot stuff. It's really cute! Of course, him doing all this so early for his age makes Mitchell and I so proud. We think he's a genius...ha! But if he continues doing things early we may be in lots of trouble in a few months.

At 14 weeks Rhett weighed around 14.5 pounds. Not sure how accurate that is since we just weighed him on the scale at my parent's house. I'm excited for his 4 month appointment, which is in a couple weeks, to see how much he weighs then and how long he is. I can't tell anymore if he's still a big baby or what? We shall see!
