I did his 3 month photos out at Mitchell's parents ranch over the weekend. The weather was beautiful although Rhett didn't last too long. He, of course, got fussy after 20 minutes. I think this week he's been going through a growth spurt or something because he's been unusually fussy! Doesn't want to take his naps and not a lot is making him happy right now. I did manage to catch a few smiles in his shoot, thankfully. We also started putting him on a "schedule" this week...brutal! If it doesn't start to pan out and work over another week, I'm giving up on it. We shall see...
Also, he's been drooling like crazy and constantly puts his hands and other things in his mouth. He's getting really good at grabbing items, such as my hair, face and toys. He's learned that he can grab things behind him, stuff he can't see. He's laughing a lot (when he's happy), yelling and making all kinds of noises. His favorite thing right now is textures. He loves soft felt blankets and his doggie. He rubs them on his face and sometimes falls asleep with them on his face which makes mommy nervous and I have to go and check on him to make sure he's not suffocating himself.
Happy 3 month Birthday Buddy!
The yellow Easter outfit he's wearing was my brother's...so it's at least 28 years old. I guess he didn't even wear it because it still had the tags on it. I love putting him in my brother's old vintage clothes!!

12 weeks - St. Patty's Day at the Arboretum with Sabrina
Not much change since last week, although Rhett's 11th week was a big one. He still HATES being on his stomach but getting better and better at sitting up in the Bumbo. He LOVES being outside. We spent St. Patty's Day at the Arboretum with my friend Stacey and her adorable little girl, Sabrina, who is just a few weeks younger than Rhett. I blow in Rhett's face all the time and it makes him smile, so when we were at the Arboretum and the wind would blow, Rhett would smile and coo...so cute! Unlike Rhett, Sabrina has lots of shiny dark hair and Rhett thought it was the perfect length to grab onto and pull. We were cracking up! Also, I love how dainty and girly Sabrina looks compared to my son who had his hands in his mouth and who was closing his eyes the whole time...haha!
Then on Saturday Mac and Gabby took us to Ft. Worth to eat dinner at her friend's new restaurant, Brownstone. Rhett did great. He slept through our fabulous dinner then was wide-eyed and taking it all in when we walked around the stockyards. Such a fun night! But...the next day, I think we over-stimulated him because Rhett was extremely bloated and gassy. (I read over-stimulation can cause that...oops.) At least we all had fun though.
Thanks to Mitchell's Aunt Betsy for Rhett's super cool tie-dye top!

11 weeks - St. Patty's Day on Greenville & Daddy's Birthday
Rhett's RSV has cleared up, thank goodness. We are starting to get back into our routine again which means better naps and less fuss. He had a big 11th week of life. He's rolled over twice, laughed out loud, celebrated St. Patty's Day on Greenville and celebrated his daddy's birthday all in one week! After a fun and long Saturday of partying at a friends house for St. Patty's Day, then another fun and long Sunday of friends visiting then celebrating Mitchell's birthday at JoJo and Gramps' house, he slept the longest yet that night...10 hours straight! He would have gone longer but I woke him at 8 to feed him. Poor dude was exhausted but he did so well. He loves being outside and being around people. He just chills and takes it all in, much like his daddy :). Also a big thanks to Uncle Mac and Aunt Gabby for keeping Rhett for us for the first time. They had fun and Rhett is lucky to have such a cool Aunt and Uncle to kick it with!!
And....thank you JoJo for my "kiss me i'm irish" tee and Jeanie for my pajama jeans and my red and white polo onesie!

10 weeks - A visit from my Jeanie, Poppy and Mamal
My parents and grandmother came in town this past weekend - it was great! Since Mitchell still can't help out much with Rhett because of his shoulder, it was so nice to have some help with Rhett. They, of course, cannot get enough of him. I finally got to take the dogs to the vet, get a facial and do a few things I've been needing and wanting to do. Also, while they were in town, Rhett really started giggling and chuckling more (which turned into a full on laugh yesterday) and he really started making eye-contact with his hanging toys and batting at them on purpose...not just on accident as before. It was cool that they got to witness those milestones first-hand. My parents can't believe how big and alert he's getting. It's so much fun to watch them with him. I know the first grandchild is always so special...
On Friday, Rhett went to the doctor because he's been super congested, coughing and had trouble breathing. He weighed 13 pounds and they diagnosed him with RSV. He still has it but luckily he didn't get any fever or ear infections with it and it hasn't altered his mood, eating or sleeping at all. He's a tough little dude!
He's getting a little better with being in his bumbo and tummy time. He's very strong and can hold his head up great but he likes to hold his head up while in your lap sitting or when you hold him. He's not a fan of the tummy time but the doctor told me to just keep working with him at it.
Thanks mom, dad and mamal for a great weekend! And thanks mom for all the cute outfits for Rhett (which are 6 month outfits...and they fit him.) LOVE YA'LL!!!

2 months/9 weeks
Rhett turned 2 months old on February 22. I cannot believe it's already been 2 months since I had him. It seems like he's been here much longer. It's crazy how much more I love him with each passing day. I guess because we are both getting to know each other and I'm getting the hang of mommy-hood.
At his 2 month appointment he weighed 12 pounds 14 ounces, 75th percentile, and measured 24 inches long, which makes him still in the 90th percentile for height! I sure hope he stays long so he can one day tower over his average standing parents :).
I just took a few shots the other day right before waking him from a nap and right after. I haven't had much time for anything else. I had mastitis on Monday last week - awful! I won't go into details, but if you don't know what it is and are curious, google it. I had no idea what it was until I got it. The following Friday Mitchell had shoulder surgery and now Rhett has a cold. To say the least, it's been crazy and busy here at my house...at least for me. I've been taking care of both boys. Now I know what it was like to be a house wife in the 50's. No offense to anyone who does or did this...as in solely taking care of the kids and husband...but it is work! I've been cooking every meal for Mitchell and serving it to him (in between feeding and taking care of an infant). BTW, this is something I NEVER do normally. I'm glad to help out because Mitchell physically cannot do this stuff without help, but I have a new respect for those moms who do/did what I've been doing for their entire marriages. (Thanks Mom!) I'd say I'm most definitely more of the "modern" woman versus the "traditional". Anyone who knows me well would most likely agree. Haha!
Oh and thanks to JoJo for the cute little onesie Rhett is sporting.
